7 Ways I Make Myself Feel Better.

I have off days. Everyone has off days. Days where mental health feels too much to handle. Days where you literally cannot bear the thought of leaving the bed, let alone the house. Unfortunately, having a 3 year old means that I cannot always take the time I need to just hide away until I feel better. My partner always helps out as much as he can but because he works more hours than a full time job, he isn’t always available. So what do I do to make myself feel better?

1. Baths

This sounds so cliché, but honestly a bath makes me feel like a new person 99% of the time. If I am on my own with Alex he will more than likely start throwing all of his toys in and try to turn bath time into play time, but even still, it makes me feel better.

2. Baking

I love baking and I find that it helps me release any anger and frustration I have for some reason. I don’t bake very often, but when I do, I feel better for it. Also, you then have yummy treats to eat after!

3. Fresh Air

I’m lucky enough to live next to a little playground for Alex (that is hardly ever busy!), so a quick trip to the park is perfect on a nice day. Alex is at a nice age where he can go on most things (lets be real, he only ever goes on the slide anyways) by himself. So I can take 10 minutes to myself sat down whilst he has fun burning energy.

4. Twitter

Social Media is a huge part of my life, I don’t think I can go a day without checking some form of social media. I find Twitter is a good outlet for me and also I have made some amazing internet friends and just talking to them puts me in a better mood!

5. Writing

Along the same lines as Social Media, my blog is a huge outlet for me. Writing makes me feel so much better, no matter what I’m writing.

6. Books

I love to read (although I am yet to finish a book in 2018 yet 😐). The feeling of escaping to another world is like no other I can describe and it’s like therapy for me.

7. Disney

There is nothing I love more than picking a Disney film with Alex and cuddling under a blanket on the sofa to watch it. He gives the best cuddles!
